Timothy J. Rockefeller

Timothy James Rockefeller, 61, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 29, 2016, surrounded by family at McPherson Hospital. He was a Senior Instrumentation Mechanic at Pfizer, Inc., formerly Hospira.

Tim was born on September 25, 1954, in Manhattan, KS, the son of Jack Duff and Dorothy Fern (Thomas) Rockefeller. He graduated from Clay Center High School in 1972, Texas State Technical Institute, and K-State. He received associate degrees in Laser Optics, Technology Electronic Engineering, and Technology Computer Engineering. He received a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. Tim served in the United States Army. On December 13, 1974, Tim was united in marriage to Mary J. Cook in Lawrence, Kansas.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 41 years, Mary of the home; three children, Callie Rae Rockefeller (Oscar Armbruster) of Haysville, KS, Emily Suzanne Bartlett (Cody) of Austin, TX, and James Patrick Rockefeller of McPherson, KS; six siblings, Pat D. Rockefeller (Glenda) of Pomeroy, WA, Lois Ann Rockefeller (Theron Cole) of Abilene, TX, John David Rockefeller (Mare) of Topeka, KS, Thomas Joseph Rockefeller (Pera) of Spokane, WA, Jane Marie Kofstad (Bob) of Woodland, WA, and Rebecca Dorthea Reis (Joe) of Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Xia Rae Lynn Rockefeller, Amelia Claire Armbruster, Maxwell Oscar Armbruster, Adelaide June Armbruster, Augustus Timothy Armbruster, Norah Jane Bartlett, and Ellis Reid Bartlett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Dorothy Rockefeller, and brother, Francis Marion Rockefeller.

The memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Countryside Covenant Church with Rev. Jon Black officiating. Inurnment will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
