T. Madine Andes

T. Madine Andes, 90, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2016, surrounded by family at The Cedars, McPherson. She was a homemaker.

Madine was born on January 26, 1926, in Enid, OK, the daughter of George and Alice (Rounds) Brewer. The family moved to McPherson, KS when Madine was 12 years old, and she graduated from McPherson High School in 1944. On April 16, 1944, Madine was united in marriage to Clare M. Andes in Lyons, Kansas. They shared the joys and sorrows of married life together for 42 years before his passing on May 15, 1986.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and McPherson Hospital Volunteer Services. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, reading, playing bingo, and family gatherings.

Survivors include: five children, Sharon Likins and husband, LeRoy, of McPherson, KS, Dave Andes and wife, Sharon, of Galva, KS, Donna Andes of Newton, KS, Connie Stucky and husband, Brad, of McPherson, KS, and Mark Andes of Medora, KS; brother, Don Brewer of Denver, CO; sisters-in-law, Iris Brewer of California and Vena Bruce of McPherson, KS; eight grandchildren, Scott Likins, Julie Roberts, Geoff Andes, Heather Andes, Travis Beals, Marty Andes, Tiffany Blake, and M.J. Andes; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces & nephews.

Madine was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alice Brewer; husband, Clare Andes; brothers, Nathan Brewer and Leon Brewer; and sisters-in-law, Gretchen Brewer and Shirley Brewer.

The memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Mayse officiating. Refreshments will be served following the service at the First Christian Church. A private family burial will be held at Crestwood Memorial Park prior to the memorial service.
