Kent Thompson

Stephen “Kent” Thompson, 75, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, surrounded by family at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

Kent was born October 25, 1949, in McPherson, KS, the son of Darrell V. and Lucille O. (Marsh) Thompson. He graduated from McPherson High School and received a Bachelor’s degree from McPherson College. In 1985, Kent was united in marriage to Leslie Ann Thomas.

He was a retired trailer salesman for Action Equipment Company. Kent was a Boy Scout Leader and was involved with Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited.

Survivors include four children, Justin Thompson of Louisburg, KS, Chris (Sheri) Thompson of Canton, KS, Aaron (Emily) Thompson of Ellsworth, KS, and Lexi (Levi) Tweedy of St. Louis, MO; a brother, Blue Thompson of Canton, KS; five grandchildren, John Thompson, Maraya Thompson, Cruz Thompson, Lillian Tweedy, and Lincoln Thompson; and many extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Kent’s life (come & go) will take place from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday, September 5, 2025, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.
