Sharon Kay Leidal was born in Peoria, Illinois, on March 25, 1966, to Jack and Velma Huntley. As a child, her family moved to South Texas, where she grew up, met her future husband, Dan, and welcomed their daughter, Michelle.
After raising their daughter, Dan and Sharon settled in Canton, Kansas where Sharon became an active member of her church, King’s Hiway Baptist Church in McPherson, Kansas, sharing her gifts through potlucks and fellowship. She was a devoted believer in Jesus. Sharon was the life of the party, known for her infectious laughter and warm hospitality. An outstanding cook and hostess, she welcomed everyone with open arms, often serving her signature homemade supreme pizza. Sharon’s greatest joy was being a grandmother to her grandsons, Cameron and Alexander, children of Burt and Michelle Miranda, whom she cherished deeply.
Sharon passed away peacefully at her home on June 2, 2025, at age 59. Her spirit endures in the treasured memories she created and the countless lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband Dan; daughter Michelle and son-in-law Burt; grandsons Cameron and Alexander; sister Cathy and brother Jack.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Velma, siblings Tina, Cindy, and James, and niece Melissa.
Proverbs 31: 28-29: Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
