Ruthanne (Guyer) Stucky

June 3, 1949 — May 30, 2026

Moundridge, KS

Ruthanne (Guyer) Stucky was born on June 03, 1949, in Beloit, Kansas, the daughter of Elbert and Marvel (Hackerott) Guyer. She passed away on May 30, 2026, with her family by her side. Her faith was strong in God, her family, her church family, and her country, and it showed clearly in the way she lived. In her Bible she wrote simple truths that guided her: “Let go, and let God,” “God’s purpose rises above ours,” and “There may not be a tomorrow.” They were quiet reminders of the faith and perspective she carried through life.

She grew up in the Kill Creek, Osborne County, KS area and attended a one-room school house. For a short time, Ruthanne lived in Clay Center, KS before moving with her family to Moundridge, KS in 1958, where her parents founded Moridge Manufacturing. This move set the course for the work and legacy that would shape her life. Leaving the Kill Creek area was especially hard for Ruthanne. She left behind the grandpas she cherished and other family members she held close to her heart - people whose presence shaped her earliest years.

Ruthanne graduated from Moundridge High School in 1967 and attended Wichita State University for one year before returning home to begin her career with her family at Moridge Manufacturing. She quickly learned the ropes in the industry, proving herself to be a force to be reckoned with - a woman whose natural business acumen, determination, and steady confidence earned deep respect.

Ruthanne's legacy at Grasshopper was built one handshake at a time, one relationship at a time, across decades of quiet, steady work. Ruthanne understood what Moridge Manufacturing could become. Beginning in the early 1970’s, she took on the work of building the dealer network that would carry Grasshopper products to customers across the country and the world shortly after. It was relationship work; the kind that requires patience, consistency, and genuine care for the people on the other end of the conversation. At a time when commercial-grade zero-turn mowers were still a new concept, she helped educate and recruit dealers who would become lifelong partners of the company. She developed and championed dealer sales programs that rewarded volume and account integrity, creating structures that gave dealers real reason to grow with Grasshopper rather than simply carry the line. Those programs define what it meant to be a Grasshopper dealer, and many of the standards she set remain embedded in how the company does business today. She was a woman who truly seemed to have it all - grace, compassion, love and a steady belief in helping others become the best version of themselves. Her work ethic was unmatched; she showed up fully, right until a week before her passing. She was brilliant, and every conversation with her revealed just how sharp, thoughtful, and wise she was. To honor her is to remember the way she lived; with strength, kindness, and determination of living well. Family always came first and her children were of utmost importance, and she was very proud of their accomplishments. Ruthanne was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always looking forward to their visits.

Ruthanne married Roger Stucky on November 15, 1968, at Kill Creek Presbyterian Church in Kill Creek Township. It was a cold, muddy Friday - the kind of day that marked the beginning of a lifelong partnership grounded in commitment and hard work. After celebrating their wedding and spending the weekend with Grandpa Hackerott, both were back to work on Monday, beginning their married life with the same dedication that would define their years together.

She is survived by her loving husband, Roger Stucky; daughter Alisa Stucky of Lawrence, KS and her grandchildren, Zoe and Bridgette Stucky-Dorris; daughter Dixie (Doug) Weilert of Leoti, KS and grandchildren Phillip (Lizzie) Weilert and Trenton (Ellisa) Weilert; and daughter Susan Stephenson of McPherson, KS and granddaughter Jennifer Stephenson.

She is also survived by her nephew Roger Hernandez of Wichita, KS, with Emily and Eli Hernandez; her brothers Kendall (Pat) Guyer of Greensboro, GA, Stan (Judy) Guyer and Duane (Linda) Guyer, all of Moundridge, KS; along with numerous nieces and nephews and five great-grandchildren. Her love and beautiful smile will be immensely missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Marvel Guyer, a son, Spencer Stucky, and daughter, Kathy Stephenson.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the First Presbyterian Church, McPherson. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, June 10, at the First Presbyterian Church. A graveside service will be at 2:00 PM at the Mound Township Cemetery, Moundridge.
