Royal E. Diers

Royal Eugene Diers, 78, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, surrounded by family at McPherson Hospital.

He was born on February 17, 1947, in Beloit, KS, the son of Adolph Walter and Lois Amelia (Davey) Diers. On May 10, 1969, Royal was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Chase in Charleston, SC. This union was blessed with two daughters, Lynette and Christina.

Royal served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion. He was also a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church.

He owned and operated his own auto repair shop, Diers Auto.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Beverly of the home; daughters, Lynette (Troy) Sovde of Galva, KS and Christina (Kevin) Klinkerman of Canton, KS; brother, Enos (Bonnie) Diers of Cawker City, KS; sister, Teresa Peterson of Asherville, KS; four grandchildren, Cole Sovde, Caleb (Katelynn) Sovde, Grace Klinkerman (Tayln Huff), and Chase (Madison) Klinkerman; two great-grandchildren, Norah Gene Sovde and Sky Royal Klinkerman; and many extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leon Diers.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 PM, Friday, August 1, 2025, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 2, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Dale Dumperth officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
