Roscoe Beasley, 81, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2015, at his home in McPherson. He retired from Johns Manville, where he worked in the maintenance department.

Roscoe was born on April 9, 1933, in Gainesville, MO, the son of John Everett and Gertrude Emoline (Loftis) Beasley. On January 31, 1958, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Kay Egger in Gainesville, MO. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2002.

He was a member of the Kansas Bluegrass Association.

Survivors include: two daughters, Anita Beasley of McPherson, KS and Kathy Brick (Tom) of McPherson, KS; good friend & companion, Virginia Kenney of McPherson, KS; brother, James Robert Beasley (Opal) of Gainesville, MO; sister, Bernice Byerlee (Don) of Mansfield, MO; and two grandchildren, Cassie Martin of New Berlin, WI and Christine Ayers of Mount Pleasant, WI; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Autumn, and Cody.

Roscoe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Evelyn, son, Steven, brothers, Glenn, Albert, and Gene; and sisters, Bonnie Dame and Sarah Jo Oxley.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, January 8, 2015, at First Christian Church, McPherson. Inurnment will follow at the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
