Robert "Rob" P. Wallace

Robert “Rob” Paul Wallace, 54, formerly of Hutchinson and McPherson, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Maize, Kansas, on Friday, July 17, 2026.

Born on October 23, 1971, Rob was the son of Kenneth Francis and Phyllis Ann (Litton) Wallace. He graduated from McPherson High School.

Following graduation, Rob joined the family oil and gas business. In 2014, he assumed ownership, renaming the company Walco.

Shortly after high school, Rob was united in marriage to Tamie Koehn, and together they welcomed their daughter, Lacie. In 2003, he married Jill Alumbaugh, and this union was blessed with two children, Dana and Tyler.

Rob was a member of the Kansas Walleye Association and RSNC, a rodeo organization, and found great enjoyment participating in team penning, walleye fishing tournaments, and pool tournaments. Exceptionally gifted with his hands and mind, he was a master carpenter whose craftsmanship reflected both precision and pride, and he possessed a remarkable talent for mathematics that seemed to come naturally.

Those who knew Rob will fondly remember that he was truly a creature of habit. From his younger days, when a Mountain Dew and honey bun were his morning ritual before school, to adulthood, when each day began with a stop at the local gas station for coffee, he found comfort in life's familiar routines. He also never passed up a favorite hot ham and cheese sandwich from Hardee's.

Rob is survived by his three children, Lacie (Ryan) Bate of Canton, Kansas, Dana Wallace of Miller, South Dakota, and Tyler Wallace of Miller, South Dakota; his father, Kenneth Wallace of Hutchinson, Kansas; two beloved grandchildren, Jaxon and Lakin Bate of Canton, Kansas; his half-sister, Kelcie Wallace of Haysville, Kansas; his step-sisters, Ashlyee (Damonta) Beer of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Cindy Hopkins of Pierce City, Missouri; along with many extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Wallace.

The family will hold a private celebration of Rob's life.
