Robert D. “Bob” Crow, 94, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Pleasant View Home in Inman, KS.
Bob was born on July 9, 1929, in Centerville, Arkansas, the son of James Carlton and Thelma Madora (Vandiver) Crow. He graduated from Little Rock Tech High School in 1947. On September 13, 1950, he married JoAnn Hunt. She passed away on June 13, 1995.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. After getting out of the Navy in 1952, he went to work for Mobil Oil Company. In 1960, he started working for Mid America Pipeline Company as their Operations Superintendent. In 1975, he moved from McPherson, KS, to Tulsa, OK to start his own business, Storage Management and Consultants and Southwest Brine, Inc.
In 1995 after JoAnn passed, he moved to Hutchinson, KS. He married Delores Winkley on January 17, 1998. She died on July 5, 2010.
He worked for Wheeled Coach delivering ambulances all across the United States. When they moved their operations to another state, he went to work for St. Francis Ministries. In 2020, he retired at the young age of 90.
Robert was a life member of V.F.W. Post #2715, McPherson, KS, where he served as Commander from 1974 to 1975.
He is survived by his children, Robert Jr. (Michelle) Crow, Jonette (Mike) Yost, and Keith (Joanne) Crow. He is also survived by his step-children, Kim, Kevin, Kristie, and Kenny. He has also been blessed by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, David, wives, JoAnn and Delores, and long-time companion, Dorothy Butler.
A private family gathering will be at a later date.
