Robert “Bob” L. Coy, 73, of McPherson, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016, surrounded by family at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He retired from CertainTeed where he worked in quality control. Following retirement, Bob was currently working at Dillons in carry out.

Bob was born on October 11, 1943, in Independence, KS, the son of Oscar Boyd and Pearl Elma (Bell) Coy. On February 1, 1964, Bob was united in marriage to Karen L. Shearhart in Pratt, KS.

He was a member of First Christian Church, McPherson and a former member of First Christian Church in Wayside, KS. Bob was an avid sports fan.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 52 years, Karen of the home; four children, son, Jerry (Tonya) Coy of McPherson, KS, Denise (Don) Huff of McPherson, KS, Debbie Coy of McPherson, KS, and Susan Stephenson of McPherson, KS; brother, Keith Coy of South Hutchinson, KS; sister, Joyce (Gerald) Webster of Hutchinson, KS; six grandchildren, Jessie (Jake) Cauthorn, Tosha (Justin) Coy, Katie (Chris) Blankenship, Jacob (Andrea) Coy, Jacie (Wade) Nelson, and Jennifer Stephenson; 15 great-grandchildren, Ethan Coy, Shianne Newboles, Brayden Blankenship, Riley Newboles, Kelley Blankenship, Craigg Blankenship, Nathen Blankenship, Brayden Nelson, Brook Nelson, Kolton Coy, Camden Nelson, Greyson Coy, Morgan Cauthorn, Ellie Coy, and Kinsley Nelson.

Bob was preceded in death by: his parents, Boyd and Pearl Coy; brother, Merril “Bill” Coy; sister, Elma Tarrant; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wayne and Frances Shearhart.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at First Christian Church with Rev. Lynn Scott officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, November 14, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
