Norma M. “Granny” Hosheit, 91, of McPherson, KS and formerly of Greensburg, KS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. Norma owned & operated Norma’s Café and Panther Drive-In in Phillipsburg, KS. She also owned & operated Redwood Motel in Greensburg, KS.
Norma was born on June 23, 1924, in Kensington, KS. She graduated from Kensington High School. On October 11, 1945, Norma was united in marriage to Edwin Francis Hosheit. He preceded her in death in 2000.
She was a member of New Spring Church in Wichita, KS.
Survivors include: two daughters, Frances Lare and husband, Gary, of McPherson, KS and Patricia Guttridge and husband, Gary, of Pahrump, NV; sisters, Bethel Klink and husband, Dean, of Glade, KS and Cleo Witt of Arvada, CO; eight grandchildren, Tracy Lare, Cory Lare, Kelly Lare, Brandon Hosheit, April Baugh, Gina Ferrell, Jessica Austin, and Garrett Guttridge; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Edwin Francis Hosheit, Jr., and brother, Paul Hilbrink.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 22, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, Dec. 22, at the Fairview Cemetery in Greensburg, KS. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, Dec. 21, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
