Nikki Lee Cody, 65, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at her home in McPherson, KS. She was a bookkeeper at The Citizens State Bank (formerly Home State Bank).
Nikki was born on October 9, 1954, in Halstead, KS, the daughter of Wilbur Lee and Colleen “Lee” Pearl (Nichols) Bland. She graduated from Halstead High School and was a member of the cheerleading squad, which took first place in a national semi-final competition in Dallas with a total of 1700 teams competing. They then went on to the national level and placed second.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, McPherson.
Survivors include: her husband, William “Bill” Janssen of McPherson, KS; daughter, Kendra Murphy (Blayne) of Centralia, MO; granddaughter, Kensley Murphy of Centralia, MO; step-daughters, Taysha Yowell of McPherson, KS and Tannah Janssen of McPherson, KS; step-son, Blane Janssen of McPherson, KS; sister, Shelley Beezley of Minnesota; numerous nephews and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Bland and Lee Rush.
A graveside service will be at 9:30 AM, Saturday, June 6, 2020, at McPherson Cemetery with Rev. Joe Nichols officiating.
