Mildred A. Swick

Mildred Ann Swick, 96, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at The Cedars, McPherson.

She was born on April 25, 1930, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Harry Wesley and Edith Mabel (Jacobson) Swick. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1950.

Mildred retired after many years as a dedicated housekeeper. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, where she found great joy in the Homebuilders Sunday School Class and the friendships she cherished there. She was also a member of the Starlite Lanes Ladies Bowling League.

Mildred had a special love for cats and found happiness in creating beautiful needlepoint and crocheted items, generously sharing her handmade gifts with family and friends. She looked forward each year to attending the McPherson County All Schools Day Parade, a tradition she thoroughly enjoyed. She also treasured the time she spent at the McPherson Senior Center, where she enjoyed playing Mexican Dominoes and visiting with friends.

She is survived by her friends and caretakers, Al and Gail Renner of Inman, KS, and her extended church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Edith Swick, and two sisters, June Swick and Peggy Swick.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Andrew Conard officiating. A visitation and viewing will be held from 1:00 PM until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at McPherson Cemetery.
