Mildred "Mickey" Chisholm, 99, of McPherson, passed away surrounded by family on November 20, 2018, at the Heritage in Overland Park, Kansas.

Mickey was born October 20, 1919, in Raymond, Kansas. She was the daughter (and only child) of Frank J. Miller and Mabel (Mechem) Miller.

Mickey attended Stephen’s College in Columbia, MO, and graduated from McPherson College. She taught English and Home Economics for a year at the high school in Deerfield, Kansas. She then moved to Kansas City, Kansas, where she worked at the Commercial National Bank downtown.

She married Emerson Chisholm on August 18, 1945, and enjoyed 58 years of marriage until Emerson’s death in 2004. They made their first home in Roxbury, Kansas, later relocating to McPherson in 1964.

Mickey was a proud and loving mother and grandmother. She was active in the United Methodist Church, the Barbara Circle, and Domestic Arts Club. She delivered Meals on Wheels and could often be found tending her flower garden or cooking up a delicious meal. In later years, she loved swimming at the YMCA with friends.

She and Emerson never missed a Bullpup Basketball game, but their great love was travel. They enjoyed many wonderful trips together, both in the US and abroad.

Mickey is survived by: her son, Jack Chisholm (Stephanie); daughter, Sue Calhoun; grandson, Blake Calhoun (Stephanie); granddaughters, Casey Calhoun Omang (Curtis), Michelle Chisholm Reed (Zach), Christine Chisholm, and Laura Chisholm; and great-grandsons, William Calhoun and Cooper Reed.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 28, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Pastor Lacey Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
