Michelle Ann (Smith) Schlesinger, 68, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on May 29th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Michelle was born on January 21, 1958 in Lyons, KS, to Carl and Josephine (Limones) Smith. Michelle graduated from Lyons High School and went on to dedicate her work to various pharmaceutical companies for over 41 years.
Michelle found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved gathering with friends to play cards, enjoying movie outings, and making treasured memories on family trips to Disney World. Her happiest moments were often those spent laughing with loved ones and watching her family grow.
She is survived by her daughters, Amy Nye (Quade), Abby Bohnenblust (Josh); her beloved grandchildren Braxton and Brenner Nye, and Noa Bohnenblust; her brother James Smith (Rita); her nephews Travis Smith (Miranda), Joseph Smith, and Shawn Smith (Mauricio); and her mother Josephine Smith; as well as many cherished cousins, great nieces and nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother Eric Smith; her father Carl Smith; and her grandparents Evaristo and Elvira Limones, and Agnes Meek.
Michelle will be remembered for her warm heart, sense of humor, and her devotion to family and friends. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created, and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held at 9:30 AM, Friday, June 12, 2026, at McPherson Cemetery. A celebration of life service will follow at 11:00 AM, Friday, at Countryside Covenant Church with Rev. Jon Black officiating.
All attendees are encouraged to wear bright colors or Disney apparel to the celebration of life service.
The family suggests memorial donations be payable to the McPherson Opera House and can be mailed to Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
