Michael D. Crosby

Feb 8, 1976 — Jul 18, 2026

McPherson, KS

Michael David Crosby, 50, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at his home.

Mike was born on February 8, 1976, in McPherson, KS. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1994 and had worked as a process technician for Viega.

On June 2, 2001, Mike was united in marriage to Felicia Renee Cheesman in McPherson. This union was blessed with a son, Austin.

Michael was a gentle and quiet man whose kind heart and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Though soft-spoken, his actions spoke volumes, and he was the dependable friend others could always count on. His warm embraces were unforgettable, and his willingness to lend a helping hand reflected the generosity that defined his life.

Music was one of Michael's greatest passions. He loved listening to music, playing the guitar, and writing songs. He shared his love of music as a member of the band Threshold, performing alongside his close friends Kyle Thompson, Chad Thompson, and Tim Nordstrom. The friendships he built through music remained among the most treasured of his life.

Family meant everything to Mike. Thanksgiving was Mike’s favorite holiday, and he and Felicia joyfully welcomed family, friends, and anyone who wished to share a meal around their table. He adored his nieces and nephews, and for Christmas, Uncle Mike and Aunt Felicia delighted in creating magical memories with thoughtful gifts, treats, and imaginative surprises. His grandsons, Jameson and Benjamin, were truly the light of his life, bringing him immeasurable pride and joy.

Michael found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing, grilling delicious meals, and spending time playing marbles with his mom and aunties. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing football throughout middle school and high school, and also played basketball for a season.

He cherished gathering with family and friends, especially during the crawfish boils with his son, Austin, and the many backyard cookouts where laughter and fellowship were always abundant. He particularly treasured the lifelong friendship he shared with Kyle Thompson, affectionately known as "a brother from another mother." Karla and Carl Thompson became a second family to Michael, and he was truly blessed with a wide circle of cherished friends and loved ones.

Michael enjoyed taking care of his yard and home. His lawn and house were always meticulously maintained, and he enjoyed helping Felicia tend the garden, doing his part to help keep it alive!

Survivors include his wife, Felicia Crosby; son, Austin Crosby of McPherson, KS; mother, Cindy Crosby of McPherson, KS; sister, Faydra Langshaw of Topeka, KS; two grandchildren, Jameson Crosby and Benjamin Campbell; nieces & nephews, Drake, Caitlyn, Trevor, and Paislee Langshaw; a great-nephew, River Lee Martinez; brothers-in-law, Matthew and Tyler Cheesman; niece & nephews, Alyssa, Wade, William, Wyatt, Arryk Cheesman & Brycen Parker; and many extended relatives and friends.
