Merry Persinger

December 25, 1943 — June 1, 2026

Salina, KS

Merry Persinger, 82, of Salina, Kansas, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Salina. Her daughter, Paula, was her primary care provider and gave her unconditional love and care.

She was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1943, in McPherson, Kansas, to John J. and Edna W. (Christensen) Regier. Merry graduated from McPherson High School and carried throughout her life the warmth and kindness that made her so dearly loved by family and friends.

Merry worked as an office administrator for several companies over the years and fulfilled her creative spirit by owning and operating Rosemerry’s, a beloved craft store in Lindsborg.

A gifted and artistic woman, Merry found joy in painting and creating crafts. She especially loved tending to her flower garden, fishing, bird watching, and relaxing in a warm bath. Above all else, Merry treasured her family. Spending time with those she loved most brought her the greatest happiness and was the true center of her life. Merry was an excellent cook and passed down many recipes through the years to family and friends. Her appearance was always important to her; she never had a hair out of place and was always dressed to the nines.

Merry will be remembered for her gentle heart, creative spirit, and the love she so freely shared with her family and friends.

She is survived by her three children, RaeAnn Middleton (George) of Olathe, KS, Wayne Carpenter (Renee) of Derby, KS, and Paula Carpenter of Salina, KS; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many extended relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, Betty Demieville, Charles Regier, Johnny Keith Regier, Agnar Regier, John “Jack” Regier, and Shirley Rose Smith.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson. Burial will follow at New Gottland Lutheran Cemetery, rural McPherson.

Memorial donations can be payable to Gentiva Hospice or OCCK (Salina) and can be mailed to Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.

Merry’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Gentiva Hospice, especially Alicia, Alexis, Mandy, Mona, Macy, and Jacie, for their compassionate care and support. They also express their sincere gratitude to special friend and caregiver, Nancy Van Duyne.
