Mark Alan Wash, 60, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at his home.
He was born on September 24, 1965, in Killeen, TX, the son of Roy Leon and Wanda Marie (Rounds) Wash. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1984 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in economics from Kansas State University. On September 30, 1995, Mark was united in marriage to Beth Anne Wheeler in Prairie Village, KS. This union was blessed with three children, Hayden, Adison, and Zachary.
Mark built his career with Farmers Alliance Mutual Insurance Company, but his true passion was music. A gifted drummer, he performed with several bands including the Twisters, the Phaetons, the Wild Ones, and most recently, Petty Cash. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include three children, Hayden Wash (29) of Lawrence, KS, Adison Wash (25) of Denver, CO, and Zachary Wash (23) of Lawrence, KS; his father, Roy Wash of McPherson, KS; a sister, Rowena Heart of McPherson, KS; former wife, Beth (Eric) Sweet of McPherson, KS; and many extended relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Wash, and grandparents, Hazel & Jasper Rounds and Irene & Elvin “Skeet” Wash.
The memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, November 14, 2025, at the First Christian Church with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating. Inurnment will follow at McPherson Cemetery with a reception afterward at the McPherson American Legion Post #24.
