Marjorie M. Pierce, 89, formerly of McPherson, died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at her home in Houston, Texas. She was a homemaker and retired bookkeeper, having worked for Kansas Christian Home in Newton and the Reimer Ford dealership in McPherson.

She was born March 22, 1919, in Grenola, Kansas, the daughter of Morris W. and Margaret E. (Schul) Bowers. She was a graduate of McPherson High School and attended McPherson College.

On September 7, 1941, she was united in marriage to Dwight J. Pierce in McPherson. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2005.

Marjorie was a member of First Christian Church and Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 13, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Survivors include: a daughter, Suzanne Kaliszewski of Houston, TX; two sons, Dwight J. Pierce of Wichita, KS and Charles Pierce of Fort Collins, CO; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Bonnie Jean Marston, Corrine Wiggins, and Lucille Rock.
