Marilyn Postier, 90, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, surrounded by family at Brookdale, McPherson.

She was born January 4, 1935, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Phillip Dallas and Doris Daisy (Miller) Spohn. Marilyn graduated from Inman High School and received a bachelor’s degree from McPherson College. On February 2, 1957, she was united in marriage to Lynell Vaughn Postier at Monitor Church of the Brethren near Conway, KS. This union was blessed with three children, Patty, Gail, and Darryl. Marilyn and Lynell were married for 61 years prior to his passing on March 20, 2018.

Marilyn was a homemaker, preschool teacher, and substitute teacher. She had a deep love for working in her yard, which she kept immaculate. A stylish and elegant woman, she was known for her sharp appearance and snazzy fashion sense. Marilyn cherished spending time with her friends and found great joy as a member of the Red Hat Society. She was an active member of Countryside Covenant Church and the Widows Connection, finding comfort and community in her faith. One of her greatest joys was traveling to Florida to visit her daughter, Patty. A lifelong reader, Marilyn found happiness in the simple pleasure of a good book.

Survivors include her three children, Patty (Jesse) Cain of Shalimar, FL, Gail (Doug) Schulz of McPherson, KS, and Darryl Postier of McPherson, KS; six grandchildren, Angela (Joe) McClenahan, Regina (Sean) Weygandt, Rachel (Garrett) Tolley, Eric (Christen) Schulz, Amy (Craig) Rochette, and Heather Postier; 11 great-grandchildren; and many extended relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip & Doris Spohn; siblings, Paul Spohn and Phil Spohn; and a great-granddaughter, Amber Weygandt.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 8, 2025, at McPherson Cemetery with Chaplain Jen Jensen officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson, KS 67460.
