Linda L. Pontious

Linda Lou Pontious, 84, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at McPherson Health & Rehab.

She was born on August 3, 1941, in Pawnee, OK, the daughter of Walter Eugene and Grace Laurabelle (Clark) Murray. In 1960, Linda was united in marriage to Bill J. Pontious. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1988.

Linda was a homemaker and in later years, worked at the Main Street Deli in McPherson.

Survivors include two sons, Charles (LaVon) Pontious of McPherson, KS and Trey (Sandra) Pontious of McPherson, KS; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many extended relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Grace Murray; husband, Bill Pontious; a son, Benny Pontious; brothers, Dan Murray, Vincent “Ish” Murray, Dusty Murray, and Joe Murray; a sister, Tonya Murray; and nephew, Joshua Gepner.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 16, at Washunga Cemetery in Newkirk, OK.

Memorial donations may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
