Leonard Koehn

Leonard Koehn, 81, of Inman, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at Mercy Hospital, Moundridge. He was a retired dairyman, stockman, and carpenter. He also had worked at the Buhler Milling Company.

Leonard was born on June 5, 1929, the son of Henry B. and Edith (Smith) Koehn. On August 17, 1952, he was united in marriage to Justina Goertzen in La Tena, Mexico.

Leonard was a member of the Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in rural Inman, Kansas.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in rural Inman, KS. Burial will follow at the Zion Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family present is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, at Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.

Survivors include: wife, Justina of the home; sons, Willard Koehn (Jennie) of Inman, KS, Clifford Koehn (Cheryl) of Inman, KS, Clinton Koehn (Sara) of McPherson, KS, Calvin Koehn (Lawanna) of Hazelton, ID, and Lyle Koehn (Margaret) of Hartwell, GA; daughters, Arlene Toews (Lindley) of Elma, Manatoba, Canada, Lenora Dirks (Lance) of Rich Hill, MO, and Glenda Smith (Rodney) of Sedgwick, KS; brothers, Alvin Koehn (Marcella) of Burns, KS, Daniel Koehn (June) of Buhler, KS, Ben Koehn of McPherson, KS, David Koehn (Maria) of La Tena, Mexico, Walter Schmidt (Rosa) of Sun City, AZ; sisters, Clara Koehn of Moundridge, KS and Susie Parra (Benjamin) of Albuquerque, NM; 33 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Lena Koehn, brothers, Cecil, Clarence, Herman, and Fred Koehn, and sisters, Inez Rodriguez, Anna Gallegos, Iva Koehn, and Rebecca Hoffman.
