Larry Dossett

Larry E. Dossett, 61, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at his residence.  He had been battling cancer for the past three years. 

Larry was born on June 9, 1962, in McPherson, KS, the son of Anson William and Eleanor Elaine (Newman) Dossett.  He graduated from McPherson High School in 1980 and furthered his education at Kansas State University and Garden City Community College. 

He was a bull rider in the rodeo circuit for 25 years.  He also worked in fabrication at Moridge Manufacturing for 15 years and was a cook at McDonalds for 30 years.

He attended the McPherson Free Methodist Church.

On July 16, 2005, Larry was united in marriage to Pauline M. Johnson at the McPherson Free Methodist Church. 

Survivors include: his loving wife, Pauline of the home; father, Anson (Peggy) Dossett of McPherson, KS; a brother, Keith Dossett of McPherson, KS; two sisters, Darla (Jeff) Jenkins of Las Cruces, NM and Susan Dossett of McPherson, KS; a brother-in-law, John Johnson of McPherson, KS; three nephews; three nieces; one great-nephew; and many more extended family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Dossett; parents-in-law, J. Dean and Shirley Johnson; and brother-in-law, Ronald J. Johnson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Journey Mennonite Church with Pastor Jim Ostlund officiating.
