James “Sam” Samuel Arvin, 85, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2020, at McPherson Health & Rehab. He worked for General Motors at the Fairfax Plant in Kansas City, and after retirement, he was a greeter at Walmart.
Sam was born on July 14, 1935, in Wichita, KS, the son of Samuel Otis and Floyada (Blurton) Arvin. On May 12, 1960, Sam was united in marriage to Della Mae Campbell in Kansas City, MO. This union was blessed with three sons, David, Charles, and Bob.
He attended Countryside Covenant Church, McPherson.
Survivors include: his loving wife of 60 years, Della of the home; three sons, David Arvin (Kathy) of Salina, KS, Charles Arvin of McPherson, KS, and Bob Arvin (Joanna) of Olathe, KS; a brother, Bill Arvin (Sue) of Mansfield, LA; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, & extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Joe, Donald, & Howard, and three sisters, Thelma, Lila, & Eva.
A private family service will be held.
