Jacquelyn Mae “Jacque” Rowell, 80, of Salina, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Smoky Hill Health & Rehab in Salina. She was retired from the Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant near Burlington, where she worked as an administrative assistant.
She was born October 14, 1937, in Wichita, the daughter of Harold Milton and Hannah Charlotte (Wilson) Walker. She had been a Salina resident since 2000, moving from Wichita, KS.
In 1967, she was united in marriage to Jack R. Rowell in Wichita. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1999.
Her greatest enjoyments in life were playing bingo and spending time with family. She was really proud of the fact that she raised nine children!
Survivors include: children, Frank Rowell (Susan) of Wichita, KS, Kelly Happel (Eric) of Rose Hill, KS, Sherry Martin (Bary) of Salina, KS, Diane Wierwille (Rick) of Richmond Hill, GA, John Rowell of Salina, KS, Kathy Jackson (Brian) of Wichita, KS, Richard Rowell (Connie) of Dodge City, KS and Chad Rowell (Nancy) of McPherson, KS; sisters, Carolyn Staab of Glen Ivy, CA and Jeanene Holl (Allen) of Mulvane, KS, sister-in-law, Janet Walker of Dallas, TX, 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Harold Walker and Charlotte Kressen; husband, Jack Rowell; a daughter, Judy Kulick; and brothers, Richard, Wesley, and Joseph Walker.
The memorial service will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Wichita Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Salina or Smoky Hill Health & Rehab in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 N. Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
