Gloria Jean Biby, 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at her home in McPherson. She was a long-time resident of McPherson and had worked at Pfizer for over 30 years, most recently in the quality control department.
She was born July 4, 1950, in Clay Center, Kansas, the daughter of Harry Leo and Ruby Ione (Thompson) Achenbach. Gloria graduated from Attica High School in Attica, Kansas.
Gloria could bring light into every room she entered and had an unmistakable laugh that could be heard for miles around! Some of her passions included singing, dancing, fishing, going to casinos, playing cards, scrabble, Words with Friends, bunco, bingo, and any kind of game you could think of in the car to keep everyone entertained.
She loved with all her heart and always had a hug for anyone that needed one. She will be truly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Survivors include: two daughters, Hollie Melroy (Tony) of McPherson, KS and Michelle Stetler of McPherson, KS; a sister, Janice Troyer of Olympia, WA; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Connie Peetoom, and a grandson, Trevor Morse.
A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at American Legion Post #24, McPherson.
Memorial donations may be given to McPherson Animal Shelter in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 N. Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
