Georgianna "Sissy" Mayor

Georgianna “Sissy” Mayor, 69, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, surrounded by her MCDS family at her home.

Sissy was born on February 19, 1956, in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of Robert E. and Beatrice (Beard) Mayor.

Through McPherson Industries, Sissy worked for several years on the production line at FEMCO, sorting and packaging nuts and bolts.

She had a deep love of music, especially the songs of Elvis Presley and Loretta Lynn. Sissy enjoyed her morning coffee, her Diet Dr. Pepper, and her favorite hamburger from JD’s Kwik Burger. Her favorite color was blue, and she delighted in collecting trinkets, wearing all kinds of necklaces, and working puzzles.

Known for being a little bossy at times, but often right, Sissy had a spirited personality and a heart full of kindness. She loved spending time in the greenhouse and tending to the garden. Trips to the casino were among her favorite outings, and she often returned home a winner. Outgoing and genuine, Sissy was a caring soul who wanted the very best for everyone around her.

Sissy is survived by her mother, Beatrice “Bea” Mayor of Clarksville, TN; a brother, Gary (Edna) Mayor of Clinton, MS; nephew, Bo Mayor; niece, Alicia Mayor; and her loving MCDS family.

She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Artie Mayor and Marty Mayor.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 24, 2025, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.
