Freda Jane (Malm) Talbott passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Riverview Estates with family and friends by her side. She was born to Kenneth and Kathryn (Clark) Malm in Colorado Springs, CO, on May 15, 1937. She lived most of her life in Marquette, graduating from MHS in 1955. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Talbott, on September 7, 1957, at Elim Lutheran Church.


She enjoyed being with her family and friends, reading and gardening. She was a member of Elim Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary and WELCA. 


Freda is survived by her son, Darryl (Diane), Marquette, daughter, Darla Nochowicz (Larry), Berthoud, CO, grandchildren, MaryAnne McDonnell (Kevin), Chattanooga, TN,  Evan Talbott (Andrea), Washington, DC, Lindsay Nochowicz (Adam Dandis), Littleton, CO, Lawren Terry (James), Ward, CO, and great-granddaughter, Sawyer May McDonnell, Chattanooga, TN; a sister, Frances Day of Torrance, CA; a brother, Russell Malm (Flora) of Marquette, KS; and several nieces & nephews.


Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny, her parents, sister, Ruby Johnson, and grandson, Kenneth Darryl Talbott.


A Celebration of Life will be held at Elim Lutheran Church, Friday, January 5, 2024, at 10:30 AM.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elim Lutheran Church or the Marquette Learning Center in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
