Elsie M. Schafer

Elsie M. Schafer, 98, formerly of Conway, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home in Little River. She was a retired Postmaster for the U.S. Post Office in Conway, KS.

The funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM Monday, Feb. 21, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Survivors include: two sons, Kenneth Schafer (Judy) of Hutchinson, KS and Larry Schafer of McPherson, KS; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence W. “Sim” Schafer, a son, Vance Schafer, two brothers, Froland and Wesley Wade, and a sister, Georgia Welch.
