Elaine J. Anderson

Elaine June Anderson, 81, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

She was born on June 4, 1945, in Gettysburg, PA, the daughter of George Stauffer and A. Kathryn (Kulp) Stoneback. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1963 and attended one year at Emporia State Teacher’s College. On January 2, 1966, Elaine was united in marriage to Jimmy Galen Wayne Stout. In 1974, she married Charles R. Skinner. He passed away on April 20, 2008. She then married Dale R. Anderson on October 8, 2022, in McPherson.

Elaine worked as a sales clerk at Crabb’s Town & Country Store, was a daycare provider, and was a housekeeper and Certified Nurse Assistant at The Cedars.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dale Anderson of McPherson, KS; a daughter, Lisa Chapman of McPherson, KS; a son, Michael Stout of Sonora, AR; siblings, Cynthia McSwain (Bob) of Vancouver, WA and Edwin Stoneback of McPherson, KS; brother-in-law, Lawrence Sheffler of Port Orchard, WA; sister-in-law, Dale Gifford of McPherson, KS; step-children, Myrna Walline (Russ) of Galva, KS, Marva Griffith of McPherson, KS, Becky Estes (Rick) of McPherson, KS, Ron Anderson (Darla) of McPherson, KS, Pamela Nelson (Arvard) of Elyria, KS, and Mike Anderson (Vicki) of Decatur, IL; three grandchildren, Izaac, Tucker, & Celeste Chapman; two great-grandchildren, Ivory & Gannon Chapman; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, extended relatives and friends.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, George & Kathryn Stoneback; husband, Charles Skinner; former husband, Jimmy Stout; sister, Georgianna Sheffler; long-time friend, Donnie Christensen; step-son, Geoff Skinner; and a step-grandson.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday, June 29, 2026, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 30, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor John Pattison officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
