Dora Lea Huber, 87, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2020, surrounded by her family at Bethany Home, Lindsborg. She ran the lunch counter at Duckwall’s and was a cook at Happy Chef, both of McPherson. She was also a nurse aide at Bethany Home, Lindsborg.
She was born on August 27, 1932, in Mannford, OK, the daughter of Clarence and Evelyn (Ihrig) Harris. On November 21, 1948, Dora was united in marriage to Henry Huber, Jr., in McPherson, KS. They were married 66 years before his passing on July 25, 2015.
Dora and Henry attended the New Life Foursquare Church and Word of Faith Fellowship Church. Dora attended classes to become ordained in the ministry. She was a member of Women’s AGLOW.
Survivors include: two daughters, Madonna Dobbins of Lindsborg, KS and Leanna Huber of McPherson, KS; a son, Jim Huber and wife, Joyce, of Lindsborg, KS; half-brother, David Harris of Spavinaw, OK; five grandchildren, Norman Huber, Mathew Huber, William Burgess, Mike Nordstrom, and Tim Nordstrom (Jennifer); ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Clarence Harris and Evelyn Peterson; husband, Henry Huber; grandson, Nathaniel Huber; and son-in-law, Buddy Dobbins.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 17, 2020, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Waugh officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM, Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
