Donna Kay Britting, 73, of McPherson, Kansas, and formerly of Wichita, Kansas, and Florida, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Brookdale McPherson.

Donna was born on March 30, 1953, the daughter of Don David and Mildred “Irene” (Kreipke) Tanner. She was raised in Wichita and attended Wichita public schools before continuing her education at Friends University.

Donna’s faith was the foundation of her life. She accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of eight and was baptized at Trinity Baptist Church at age 13. In 1971, Donna felt called to serve in missions, a calling that would remain close to her heart throughout her life. She began working full-time for TG&Y and, within two years, became one of the company’s first female managers. Her career took her to El Dorado, Kansas, where she met her future husband, Robert George “Bob” Britting.

On August 16, 1975, Donna was united in marriage to Bob. The couple began their married life in El Dorado. Their family grew with the birth of their son, Rusty Daniel, in August 1976, followed by the adoption of their second son, Yung Rock, from Korea in March 1980. Donna and Bob took great joy in raising their boys. They moved to Arkansas City and then McPherson in 1990 as Bob pursued a career in accounting and auto software. They joined First Baptist Church in McPherson where Donna lovingly served in Children’s Ministries, helped with Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, the nursery as well as enjoyed being the church’s Kitchen Ministry Coordinator.

In 2004, following Bob’s retirement, the couple felt called once again to serve in missions. They moved to the Orlando, Florida, area where they spent several years working with Wycliffe Associates, the volunteer arm of Wycliffe Bible Translators. For Donna, this was a particularly meaningful chapter of her life, as she was able to see the calling to missions she had felt many years earlier become a reality. She had a deep desire to serve God and was grateful for the opportunity to do so alongside Bob.

Travel was another treasured part of Donna and Bob’s life together. With Bob’s adventurous spirit and talent for planning, they enjoyed various vacations, cruises, and many memorable journeys. Throughout their married life, they were active in several churches, finding fellowship and opportunities to serve wherever they lived.

Following Bob’s passing on July 26, 2018, Donna moved back to McPherson to be near family. She began attending Countryside Covenant Church in McPherson where she found encouragement and companionship through the church’s Widows Ministry, which became a meaningful part of her life.

Above all, Donna treasured her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she delighted in being present for their activities and spending time with them. She cherished every opportunity to encourage them, make memories with them, and simply enjoy their company.

Donna will be remembered for her enduring faith, her servant’s heart, her love for her family, and her willingness to follow wherever God called her. Her life reflected a sincere desire to serve others and share the love of Christ, leaving a lasting legacy in the lives of those who knew and loved her.

Donna is survived by her sons, Rusty (Hilary) Britting of McPherson, KS, and Yung Rok Britting; former daughter-in-law and caregiver, Tonya (David) Blosser of McPherson, KS; two sisters, Debi (Dave) Stancoff of Maize, KS and Brenda (Rich) Coffman of Piedmont, KS; ten grandchildren, Isaac, Nathaniel, Amelia, Hannah, Elizabeth, Farah, Candace, Bryson, Braeden, and Teagen; and many extended relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Countryside Covenant Church, McPherson, with Rev. Jeremy Bower officiating. The final resting place will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita.
