Delmar Dean Huber, 83, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024, surrounded by his family at his home. Delmar was a crew chief at Board of Public Utilities where he worked for 42 years, retiring in 2005.
He was born on December 11, 1940, in Hillsboro, KS, the son of Jonah George and Lucille Allen (Kerbs) Huber. On November 26, 1960, Delmar was united in marriage to Gladys “Glady” Illene Winn in McPherson, KS. They were married for 62 years prior to her passing on January 8, 2023.
He attended the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three children, Dawna (Lyndon) Barrow, Dallas (Julie) Huber, and Darci (Ryan) Walker, all of McPherson, KS; sister-in-law, May Huber-Rabon of Roseburg, OR; eight grandchildren, Gregg (Kristen) Barrow, Michael (Alycia) Barrow, Austin Huber, Courtney Huber, Dylan (Lauren) Barrow, Shelby (Zach) Huber Oller, Lindsy (Shawn) Phillips, and Codi (Brett) Cusick; 17 great-grandchildren; and many more extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jonah & Eva Huber and Dayna & Lucille Stump; wife, Glady Huber; brothers, Jonathan Dale Huber and LaVern (Marilyn) Huber; and sister, Dixie (Clyde) Huber Anthem.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, October 18, at First United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made to McPherson County Community Foundation with the intention of supporting children & youth or to McPherson Toys for Kids in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
