Darrell Leon Bowen, 50, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at his home in McPherson.  He was formerly of Luray, Kansas where he owned and operated Big Daddy’s Bar.  He also worked at Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas (Russell, KS) as a medical tech.

 

He was born April 26, 1972, in McPherson, Kansas, the son of Ronald Nugent and LaVona Jean (Anthony) Bowen.  He graduated from Lucas-Luray High School in 1990.

 

On June 7, 2008, Darrell was united in marriage to April D. Henson in Lucas, KS. 

 

Survivors include: his wife, April of the home; two sons, Walker Brown (Alexis) of Hutchinson, KS and Dakota Brown of McPherson, KS; a brother, Tom Bowen (Tammara) of Hutchinson, KS; two sisters, Lora Ensz (Todd) of McPherson, KS and Cheryl Pemberton (John) of Belton, MO; two grandchildren, Quinn and Serenity Brown; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald Eugene Bowen.

 

A celebration of Darrell’s life (come & go visitation) will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 24, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.  Inurnment will be in the Luray Cemetery at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 25.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Darrell Bowen Memorial Fund (make checks payable to April Bowen) in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 N. Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
