Don Douglas “Doug” Leach, 75, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, surrounded by family at McPherson Hospital.
Doug was born on April 5, 1949, in McPherson, KS, the son of Don Carlos and Doris Jean (Crumpacker) Leach. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1967 and attended McPherson College. On August 25, 1967, Doug was united in marriage to Anita Joy Osborn at the Windom United Methodist Church.
Doug was a leadman at North American Pipe and CertainTeed, retiring after 43 years. He also served 24 years in the Kansas National Guard.
He attended New Hope Evangelical Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Anita; three children, Mike (Kristi) Leach, Mark (Anita) Leach, and Monica Dykes (fiancé, Matt Stoppel), all of McPherson, KS; a brother, Dale (Deanna) Leach of Marion, KS; nine grandchildren, Justin (Cynthia) Leach, Brittany (Nick) Gawanda, Becca Johnson, Bradley Leach, Brandon Leach, Alexis Dykes, Cali Dykes, Lili Dykes, and Gage Dykes; seven great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Neil Dykes.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at New Hope Evangelical Church with Pastor George Bocox officiating. A private graveside service with Military Honors will be held at McPherson Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to New Hope Evangelical Church in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
