Beverly Ann Stoy

Beverly Ann (Goering) Stoy, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in McPherson, Kansas.

 

Beverly was born on November 2, 1940, in Halstead, Kansas. She was the middle child of five born to Edwin A. & Theresa Grace (Cook) Goering.  She attended the Pioneer Country School.  Beverly married the love of her life, Billy Gene Stoy, on December 30, 1983, in Las Vegas, NV, and blended their families together.  Beverly was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

 

Bev and Bill enjoyed spending so much time together they purchased, renovated, and managed motels in multiple states.  In later years, they enjoyed traveling and exploring the United States with their concessions trailer “The Lunch Pail” stopping at events and festivals.  They briefly settled in Hutchinson, KS where Beverly worked and then retired from Eye Care Associates before returning to what they loved most…traveling.

 

She leaves behind five children, Delberta Plenert and husband Mike, McPherson, KS; Theron Kuhn and wife Patti, Omaha, NE; Drusilla Kroeker and William Leiker, Hutchinson, KS; DeEdra Kuhn, McPherson KS; and Deanna McDonald and husband Lanny, Ft. Garland, CO; one sister Brenda Smith and husband Frank, Tyler, TX; stepchildren, Tambra Swanson and Sandra Drakulich, Hutchinson, KS; and Van Stoy, Sedgwick, KS; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and her treasured canine companion, Bella.

 

She was preceded in death by her best friend and husband, Billy Stoy; parents Edwin & Theresa; infant daughter Barbara Kay Kuhn; brother Bryce Goering; and two sisters; Betty Norris and Bonnie Goering. 

 

Cremation has taken place and the family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, December 16th at Stockham Family Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 17th at McPherson Cemetery.

 

Any memorials are requested to the McPherson Animal Shelter in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
