Steven A. Schwartz

Steven A. Schwartz, 61, of McPherson, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015, at McPherson Hospital. He was a retired field manager for Snap-On Tools. Steve served in the Kansas Army National Guard for six years.

Steve was born on August 27, 1953, in Russell, Kansas, the son of Vernon Albert and Dona Lou (Reynolds) Schwartz. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1971. On December 29, 1973, Steve was united in marriage to Sheila Sue Engle in Garden City, KS. She preceded him in death on October 8, 2012.

He is survived by: son, Troy Schwartz and wife, Tina, of McPherson, KS; mother, Dona Schwartz of Garden City, KS; brother, Brian Schwartz of Grove, OK; sister, Lu Ann Randle and husband, Gary, of Garden City, KS; mother-in-law, Barbara Hagins and husband, Floyd, of Cottonwood Falls, KS; two grandchildren, Birkley Schwartz and Gabriel Schwartz of McPherson, KS; and two step-grandchildren, Alex Goatley and Zaya Goatley of McPherson, KS.

Steve was preceded in death by his father and wife.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, June 18, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. H. Dick Reynolds officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Kansas National Guard will follow the service. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, June 17, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
