Norma M. Pierce, 80, of McPherson, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2009, at The Cedars, McPherson. Norma was born on July 28, 1928, in Manhattan, KS, the daughter of Frank L. and Mertha V. (Gear) Myers. She graduated from Manhattan High School in 1946 and from Kansas State University in 1950. On May 18, 1956, Norma was united in marriage to Fred J. Pierce in Manhattan, KS. She was a retired medical technologist, working for Memorial Hospital, McPherson from 1963 to 1993.

Norma was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, United Way Board Member, P.E.O. Chapter HI, McPherson County AIDS Task Force, U.S.D. 418 School Board, and volunteered for the Memorial Hospital and the American Red Cross.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 am, on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. H. Dick Reynolds officiating. A private inurnment will be prior to the memorial service at the McPherson Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Survivors include: sons, Charles Pierce and wife, Pam, of Hutchinson, KS and Mike Pierce and wife, Lydia, of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Sarah, Andrew, Collin, and Ian; caregiver, Trish Bruner of McPherson, KS; and dear friend, Codgie Nicholson of McPherson, KS.
