Michael S. Connor

Michael Selman Connor, 70, of McPherson, KS and formerly of Jenks, OK, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, surrounded by family at his home in McPherson. He had most recently worked as a programmer for Helmerich & Payne in Tulsa, OK. Michael was born on January 30, 1948, in Miami, FL, the son of Willy Selman and Agnes Elizabeth (Fuller) Connor. He graduated from North Miami (FL) High School in 1965 and Crown College in St. Bonifacius, MN. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany. Michael was united in marriage to Janice M. Bloomquist on June 19, 1970, in Miramar, FL. He attended Countryside Covenant Church in McPherson. Survivors include: his wife, Janice of the home; mother, Agnes Forsythe of Tulsa, OK; 12 children, Janelle Gannon of Jenks, OK, Andrew Connor (Bonnie) of Jenks, OK, Philip Connor (Lisa) of Edgecliff, TX, Amy Ross of Anoka, MN, Julie Johnston (Brian) of Mansfield, TX, Joel Connor (Amy) of Haskell, OK, Alicia Barnes (Matt) of Kenai, AK, Olga Clark of Tulsa, OK, Anastasia Hahn of Glenpool, OK, Ivan Connor of Tulsa, OK, Dmitry Connor of Tulsa, OK, and Katerina Connor of Kenai, AK; brother, Daniel Connor of Boise, ID; sister, Julia Connor of Fayetteville, NC; and 42 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 19, 2018, at McPherson Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM, Friday, at Countryside Covenant Church with Rev. Jon Black officiating. Memorial donations may be given to Arctic Barnabus Ministries for mission work in Alaska in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
