M. Frodsham

M. Lois (Clark) Frodsham, 94, formerly of McPherson and Johnson, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas. She had lived in McPherson from 1951 to 2004, moving to Johnson, KS. In October of 2010, she had moved to Hilltop Lodge Nursing Home in Beloit, KS.

Lois was born on Sept. 28, 1916, the daughter of Artie S. and Myrtle S. Clark in Moulton, Iowa. She graduated from Moulton High School in 1933 and from Iola (KS) Junior College in 1936. On June 25, 1937, she was united in marriage to Charles W. "Chuck" Frodsham in Iola, KS. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1971. She married William F. Rothrock in December of 1973.

Lois began her 21 year teaching career in Allen County, KS country schools, and later taught at the Boys Industrial School in Topeka, and for many years at Wickersham and Lincoln elementary schools in McPherson. She graduated from McPherson College in 1962.

Lois was a faithful lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church; member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of P.E.O. Chapter HI. In her retirement years, she enjoyed reading and continued to play bridge. In recent years, she enjoyed listening to Talking Books.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 22, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Marion officiating. Burial will follow at the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 21, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM with the family present from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Stockham Family Funeral Home.

Survivors include: son, Charles K. Frodsham (Janna) of Beloit, KS; daughter, Phyllis J. Frodsham of Kutztown, PA; grandson, Eric Frodsham of Austin, TX; two granddaughters, Susan Angelisanti (Dennis) of Kutztown, PA and Kimberly Brown of Lawrence, KS; brother, Cliff Clark of Detroit, MI; sister, Eileen Kilian of Johnson, KS; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Chuck, and brother, Raymond S. Clark.
