Lydia J. Collins

Lydia Jane Collins, 60, of McPherson, KS passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at her home in McPherson.

She was born on October 19, 1960, in Tulsa, OK, the daughter of Benny Roy Goforth and Wanda Lois (Blade) Williams.

Lydia was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, fiancé, and friend. She loved to cook personally and professionally. She worked at McPherson College for Fresh Ideas.

She loved spending time with her family. Her kids and grandkids were her bright light in this world. She enjoyed going on motorcycle rides, feeling the wind in her hair, hearing the thunderous sound of a Harley, and the feeling of freedom that came from riding. Lydia was an avid Oklahoma Sooner fan, “Boomer Sooner!” She would have been four years sober in November. She loved meeting and visiting with people, new and old, always willing to give advice and enjoyed the conversations.

Survivors include: children, Sarah Thompson Eck of Lavaca, AR, Keith Owens of Evans, GA, and Corrinne “Korn” Redar (Anthony) of McPherson, KS; fiancé, Kenny Blankenship of McPherson, KS; mother, Wanda Williams of Mannford, OK; siblings, Sheryl Krehbiel (Wes) of McPherson, KS, Elizabeth Williams of Firestone, CO, Sammy Wright of Mannford, OK, and Roy Goforth of Louisiana; 16 grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, a brother, Eric Williams, and a sister, Lorraina Williams.

On Saturday, August 21, 2021, the family extends an invitation for all to join them by meeting at 10:00 AM, at McPherson Lakeside Park across from the swimming pool, to ride in procession at 11:00 AM, to 12334 W Dutch Avenue, Moundridge, KS 67107, where Lydia’s service will be held.
