Luther “Luke” S. Robinson, 83, of Lindsborg, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2020, surrounded by family at Hospice House, Hutchinson. Luke was a heavy equipment operator. He worked road construction and did dirt work and dam building. He retired from Malm Construction in 2009.

Luke was born on June 29, 1936, in Wilbert, MN, the son of John Wesley and Sophia Emelia (Sylwester) Robinson. He graduated from Onaga High School in 1954. He was united in marriage to Shirley Belle Duncan on August 15, 1959, in Duluth, KS.

He was in the Army National Guard. Luke was a member of the Freemount Lutheran Church, rural Lindsborg.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley of the home; five children, Carl Robinson of Drumright, OK, Stan Robinson (Roanna) of Layton, UT, Rick Robinson (Jana) of Lindsborg, KS, Susan Burch (Justin) of Concord, VA, Christopher Robinson of Lindsborg, KS; brother, Wilbert Robinson (Arline) of Spring Hill, FL; sisters, Grace Heck of Oconomowoc, WI, Ellen Burnett of Mokena, IL, and Wanda Honig (Larry) of Onaga, KS; seven grandchildren, Emelia Gooch, Mathew Robinson, Chelsi Montoya, Trenton Robinson, Karisa Burch, Karston Burch, and Kimbel Burch; four great-grandchildren, Maliyah Koster, Taliyah Koster, Grace Montoya, and Jace Montoya.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lois Troxell, Gladys Ford, and James Robinson.

A viewing will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 4, 2020, at the Freemount Lutheran Old Stone Church, rural Lindsborg. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at the Freemount Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Kootz officiating. To view a live stream of this service click here:

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Freemount Lutheran Church, rural Lindsborg.
