Lulubelle “Lou” Hundley, 79, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She worked a number of years with the Kansas Special Olympics in McPherson. She also worked for Sir Robert’s Family Restaurant, Long’s IGA, and Walmart.

Lou was born on September 24, 1937, in Olney, IL, a city well known as being the home of the white squirrels. She was the daughter of Pearl and Stella (Sparling) Goble. She graduated from Olney High School. On June 22, 1955, Lou was united in marriage to Walter Lee Hundley in Olney.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Post 2715 Ladies Auxiliary, and Red Hat Society in Pharr, TX.

Survivors include: loving husband of 62 years, Walter Hundley of the home; daughters, Mary Summerlin (Wylie) of Inman, KS, Jeannie Werner (John) of McPherson, KS; son, Dale Hundley (Susan) of Hotchkiss, CO; daughter-in-law, Amber Stucky (Gary) of McPherson, KS; siblings, Jim Goble (Carol) of Edmond, OK, Ron Goble (Jeannie) of Edmond, OK, and Selma Fransted of Indiana; brother-in-law, Henry Hundley (Lavina) of Noble, IL; sisters-in-law, Rosa Stanley of Dawson, IL and Marjorie Field of Effingham, IL; four grandchildren, Michelle Hundley, Chans Hundley (Candice), Jessica Taylor (Kevin Blackwell), and Kyle Hundley (Andrea); and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; ten siblings; sons, John Hundley and Neal Hundley; and granddaughter, Kirsten Hundley.

The visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, September 25, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Darren Frazier officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
