Loren L. Johnson

Loren Lee Johnson, 87, formerly of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Via Christi Village, Wichita, KS. He was a retired carpet and tile installer.

Loren was born on February 4, 1931, in Little River, KS, the son of Carl W. and Myrtle (Briggs) Johnson. He graduated from Little River High School in 1949. Loren was united in marriage to Mary Ann (Sawatzky) Winter on October 20, 1973, in McPherson.

He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, McPherson. Loren served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post #24 and V.F.W. Post #2715.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary Ann Johnson of Wichita, KS; four children, Tom (Debra) Winter of Wamego, KS, Diane Nelson of Wichita, KS, Brad (Patty) Johnson of Oregon, and Babette Hubbard of Spokane, WA; sister, Nadine (Norman) Crandall of Little River, KS; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Brock, brothers, Virgil (Faye) Johnson and Rodney Johnson, and son-in-law, Lynn Nelson.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, McPherson, KS, with Rev. Dale Dumperth officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until service time on Wednesday at the church. Burial with Military Honors will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
