Liselotte Serviss

Liselotte Serviss, 92, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at The Cedars, McPherson. She was an elementary school teacher, having taught in Moundridge, KS from 1962 through 1992.

She was born on October 22, 1928, in Kaiserslautern, Germany, the daughter of Heinrich and Lydia (Henn) Geiger. She attended elementary and high school in Kaiserslautern, Germany, graduated from Kindergarten Nursery Seminary in Landstuhl, Germany, and received a teaching certificate from Bethel College, Newton, KS. Liselotte was united in marriage to Arnold L. Serviss on July 12, 1974, in Moundridge, KS. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2012.

Liselotte was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and American Legion Post #24 Auxiliary. She volunteered at the McPherson Opera House Apt. 6, Trash to Treasure, and at McPherson elementary schools as a reading assistant.

Survivors include: daughters, Arnell Whited and husband, Gary, of Hutchinson, KS, Bettina Luttig and husband, Monte, of McPherson, KS, and Lori Hardin of Newton, KS; six grandchildren, Stephanie King (John), Melanie Schulz (Chris), Leslie Shaw (Kerry), Steven Medina (Sakura), Devin Medina, and Helene Medina; two step-grandchildren, Mercedes Lecklider and Tanner Luttig; seven great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Carl Heinz Wolfgang Geiger, and sister, Hilda Rosa Luis.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 19, at the First Presbyterian Church, McPherson. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Roxbury.
