Glen Clyde Clausen Sr,

Glen Clyde Clausen, Sr., 82, of McPherson, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at McPherson Hospital. He was a pipeline construction worker, master mechanic, and owned and operated McPherson Pipeline Construction.

Glen was born on June 22, 1932, in Hansen Corners, Alberta, Canada, the son of Jurgen “George” Johannes and Ellen Sophie Annie (Wilken) Clausen. On July 3, 1963, he was united in marriage to Irene Marguerite Pell in Kalkaska, Michigan.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge #172, McPherson Shrine Club, Isis Shrine, Scottish Rite, and attended First Christian Church, McPherson.

Survivors include: his wife of 51 years, Irene of the home; three children, Debbie Chestnut and husband, David, of Canton, KS, Clyde Clausen and wife, Ronda, of Claremore, OK, and Cathy Handlin and husband, Mark, of McPherson, KS; brother, Bob Clausen; brother-in-law, Leroy Pell of McPherson, KS; six grandchildren, Amy Binns, Hillery Rose, D.J. DePeel, Cole Clausen, Mandi Handlin, and Aaron Handlin; and five great-grandchildren, Brett Binns, Parker Binns, Bryant DePeel, Brayden Deines, and Bently Deines.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, brother, George “Shorty” Clausen, and sisters, Cora Pisesky and Eileen Bergum.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 22, 2014, at First Christian Church with Rev. Lynn Scott officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, December 21, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
