Ethel Jane Weems, 84, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at her granddaughter’s home in Moundridge, KS. She was a resident of McPherson since 1970, formerly of Phillipsburg, KS and Hill City, KS.

Ethel was born on November 4, 1934, in Agra, KS, the daughter of Clarence and Ada Pearl (Randall) Holbrook. She was united in marriage to Orville Ray Weems, Sr. on September 17, 1957, in Logan, KS. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1991.

Ethel was a stay at home mom. She loved bowling, fishing, watching sports, putting together puzzles, doing crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and spending time with family. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and KU sports fan.

Survivors include: four children, Doug Weems of McPherson, KS, Brenda Hartman of Moundridge, KS, Marsha Bergmeier (Steve) of McPherson, KS, and Sandra Simmons of Wichita, KS; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, & friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Orville “Bub” Weems, Jr., 12 siblings, and two granddaughters.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, June 23, 2019, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 24, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with burial following at McPherson Cemetery.
