Charles M. Johnson was born to Jesse and Vada (Schafer) Johnson on April 3, 1937, in Goessel, KS. He peacefully passed away on March 5, 2020, at the Moundridge Manor, Moundridge, KS, almost reaching his eighty-third birthday.

He was a lifelong member of Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. He received his formal education at Happy Hollow School.

On October 13, 1957, he was joined in marriage to Joyce E. Unruh, sharing nearly 59 years together. She preceded him in death on March 22, 2016.

Charles was a farmer, feed salesman, and general laborer at Quality Feed and Fertilizer. He was called to ministry by the Zion congregation and was ordained on January 20, 1975. Charles loved his calling and served faithfully until he retired from the ministry in 2015.

Survivors include: three children, Vonda Johnson of Moundridge, KS, Daniel (Clara) Johnson of Inman, KS, and Gregg (Robin) Johnson of Trenton, MO; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Johnson and Doyle Johnson, both of Moundridge, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, one daughter-in-law, Rhoda, his parents, oldest brother, Don, and three sisters-in-law.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Sunday, March 8, 2020, at the Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Inman, KS. Burial will follow at the Zion Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, March 7, at the church with family greeting friends from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
