Berniece Krause

B. Berniece Krause, 99, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at The Cedars, McPherson.

Berniece was born on March 23, 1920, in Hartville, MO, the only child of Guy and Ora (Campbell) Sellers. She graduated from Hartville High School. Berniece was united in marriage to Elmo Edison Krause on May 2, 1942, in Hartville. This union was blessed with five children, Ronald, Roger, Robert, Randal, and Renee’. Elmo preceded her in death on July 29, 1970.

Early in married life, Berniece and Elmo co-owned and operated a diner. She was a homemaker and became a Certified Nurse Assistant later on in life. Berniece loved the outdoors. She gardened and tended to her many flower beds over the years. Most of all, Berniece dearly loved spending time with her family, enjoying every moment with her grandchildren.

Berniece was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, McPherson.

Survivors include: three children, Ronald Krause of St. Louis, MO, Roger Krause (Ying) of Wichita, KS, and Renee’ Krause Byrnes (Patrick) of Fairfield, PA; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; two sons, Robert Krause (deceased 1997) and Randal Krause (deceased 2018); and a grandson, Ronald Guy Krause.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at Stockham Family Funeral Home and from 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday, January 22, at Grace Lutheran Church. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 22, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Dale Dumperth officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
