Thomas A. Sheridan

Thomas Allen Sheridan, 70, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2018, at Harry Hynes Hospice Center at Via Christi-St. Francis RMC, Wichita. He was a Senior Chief Petty Officer (retired 1994) in the United States Navy and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also an electrician at Board of Public Utilities and Johns Manville.

Tom was born on March 24, 1947, in Ellsworth, KS, the son of Allen H. “Skeet” and Marcella B. (Lipski) Sheridan. He graduated from Bushton Rural High School in 1965. On October 23, 1965, Tom was united in marriage to Agnes M. Hickel at the Holy Name Catholic Church near Bushton, Kansas.

Tom was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, V.F.W. Post #2715, and American Legion Post #24.

Survivors include: wife, Agnes of the home; son, Frederick Sheridan and wife, Ashley, and granddaughter, Hanna Grace, of Lehigh, KS; sisters, Theresa McKinney of Salina, KS, Donella Zink of Claflin, KS, and Nancy Schwartz and husband, John, of Moundridge, KS; aunts, Eleanor Bach of Manhattan, KS and Alice Sheridan of Manhattan, KS; nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and brothers-in-law, John McKinney and Terry Zink.

The visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, January 11, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson with family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Rosary will follow at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, January 12, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Hien Nguyen officiating. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, at Carneiro Cemetery in Carneiro, KS.
